#Keep getting blue screen windows 7 install
I change windows update to ask me about installing updates, I do not find the place to say specifically no not update the network drivers (like you mentioned in Windows 7) - if you can help me find this I would like to try it?!Īfter another shutdown & start-up, I got the windows message that it wanted to install the driver for a 'new' device it had found. after this driver is working OK () & wireless is working. Uninstalled driver through device manager, used the setup.exe to install the new one, again.ĭuring installation, Windows pops up and says it found new material and would like to search for the driver ! I ignore it as the setup has finished and needs a reboot. Start-up, no blue screen but wireless not working, warning on the device, and date of the driver has changed to ! Installed latest realtek driver ( ) - working OK So, I download RTL8192SE from (it mentions 8191 but the files do not contain this for vista, just 8192, so it installs this) back to the XP machine to search for an updated driver (as the vista machine can't download. The date of the driver is still the same, but i think it's actually looking for the one I deleted 2 days ago. yetĪnother day, after a 2nd reboot, wireless had 'disappeared' ! checking the device manager there is a warning sign next to the wireless adapter, i follow MS's advice and use 'search for a solution', but it pops up a small window for half a second and disappears, nothing seems to be happening. On boot-up no blue screen! but in windows it wanted to reinstall the driver, i said no, and wireless still seems to be working but no icon in the system tray?!! I checked in the drivers folder and the 'old' driver has not been put back in there. Shutdown and start-up again to see what happens. As it's the 'other' one that's causing the problem, I first try to remove this file to a separate location. When you go into the driver details it lists:Ĭ:\windows\system32\drivers\ rtl8192se.sys version: 10.2009 Date: īefore removing & installing the drivers, I checked in C:\Windows\System32\drivers and find I have 2 drivers, the one I am currently using ( RTL8192se.sys) and the 'other' one mentioned in the minidump logfile ( RTL819XP.SYS). MiniDump Log file says problem with RTL819XP.SYSĭevice Manager lists it as RTL8191SE (Wireless LAN 802.11N PCI-E NIC)
